Who Am I?

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when I was 9 years old.  Asperger's Syndrome is a form of autism, which is now often referred to under the autism umbrella term Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

I struggle.  I struggle with all the issues of being a young woman in the twenty-first century, and I struggle with the unique challenges that come with my atypical brain.  I struggle with challenges that I am told are unique to autism.  But while autism is my normal, I live in a world filled with neurotypicals.

This blog is an account of my life with ASD, my interactions with the world, and the challenges I face both as a human and an autistic human.

Hopefully my stories will remind you that while autistic people may be challenged further by some things neurotypicals consider plain and ordinary, but living the autistic life is pretty amazing.
